SAIL Lab works on AI safety, machine learning, large language models (and agents), and robotics — with the goal of building learning systems that are safe, reliable, and efficient enough to be deployed in the real world. We are looking for highly self-motivated students who are passionate about these topics and enjoy doing research that matters.
Ph.D. / M.S. students — via the normal admission of the School of Computer Science, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Undergraduate students — interested in doing research in the lab (e.g., as a research assistant or for a thesis project).
Visiting students / research interns — we welcome both international and domestic visiting students and interns.
Strong self-motivation, curiosity, and perseverance in tackling hard research problems.
Solid background in machine learning, reinforcement learning, optimization, and/or robotics; solid programming skills (e.g., Python and deep-learning frameworks).
Good communication and writing skills (the lab works in an international environment).
If you are interested in our research, please email our lab recruiting email at sail.lab.hr@gmail.com with details about your background and relevant skills.
Use a clear subject line, e.g., “[Prospective PhD Student/Master Student/Intern] Your name – your university/organization”.
Introduce yourself briefly and describe your research interests and experience. Attaching a CV (and transcripts, if available) is very helpful.
Mention any relevant work — for example, code repositories, projects, or papers you have written.
