Shangding Gu received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich (advised by Prof. Alois Knoll) and was a postdoctoral researcher at UC Berkeley (working with Prof. Costas Spanos and Prof. Dawn Song) before joining SJTU. His research spans safe reinforcement learning, robot learning, LLM agents, and trustworthy AI. He serves as a youth editorial board member for multiple international journals, a guest editor for IEEE TASE, an Area Chair for NeurIPS and IJCNN, and a chair/organizer of multiple international workshops and seminars. He has also delivered tutorials on safe reinforcement learning at major international conferences, including IJCAI and IEEE SmartGridComm.
